What does it mean to be made in the image of God? I have pondered this question for many years and have learned varied answers. Some say that we’re like God because we have a body, soul, and spirit (aka body, mind, and soul). And after pondering this for many years, it came to me, maybe through the Holy Spirit, that it’s way simpler than this.
I’ll lead you down the simple thoughts that occurred to me. The Church teaches Jesus is both human and divine. It’s called the dual nature of Christ. The Church also teaches Jesus is one of the aspects of God; therefore, Jesus is Man and God. Also, Jesus says, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.” – John 8:58
In conclusion, we’re made after the image of Jesus Christ because He is human and God; therefore, we’re literally made in the image of God. Does this also mean that God was completed through us?
On a different note, this explains the rebellion of the Lucifer and the angels. I’ll have another post on that subject.
